How Long do Evaluations Take?
Immigration Psychological Evaluations are roughly two to four hours. The evaluations can be done in one visit or spread out into a few one hour visits.
What Will I Need for the Appointment?
Our office will need all of your current and relevant medical, mental health, legal and education records before your first appointment. We will review this before meeting with you directly.
What Will Happen During an Immigration Psychological Evaluation?
During the session, you will meet with a licensed clinical therapist and discuss your background when it comes to mental health, trauma, your family, and any important medical and psychological conditions you may be experiencing. This information is gathered for the report that will be displayed in court to help you gain citizenship, a VISA or an asylum in the United States. The mental status evaluation will be based on DSM-5 diagnosis, implications and recommendations. We will provide an interpreter at an extra cost if necessary.
